This fiery SAGITTARIUS NEW MOON is motivating and energizing. Set positive goals during this New Moon for crossing into the New Year. As the Moon waxes, fuel them with enthusiasm and confidence, taking into consideration any steps that need to be taken NOW—no procrastinating, no time to waste, yet remembering also that “haste makes waste.” Don’t put the cart before the horse, as they say, or you are likely to trip over your feet under what could be an accident-prone combination of planets. Mars is exactly opposite Uranus on this New Moon and interacts with Pluto as well. Volatile and disturbing activity stimulates our planet’s agenda for transformation. Some folks are grumpy or downright nasty. Don’t dive into worry, and do take care, be calmly vigilant and Be Here Now. Let’s take the high road, open to visionary, forward-looking activity that is deliciously exciting.

Ultimately full of promise, along with challenge and life-altering quantum shifts from Chiron, this New Moon is action-oriented, fueled with fireworks. Some are the celebratory sparkling kind, but some may signal disaster with the crashing of old systems and structures. Such old structures are falling apart like the Tower card in the Tarot deck. The Earth may make its voice heard in unmistakable ways to remind us that we cannot control Nature. Remember that dis-aster means “against the stars,” so stay in tune with the cosmic harmonies. Limiting belief systems may be challenged, even as doubts and anxieties tend to cloud our clear vision and intuitive knowing. Take the time to maintain clarity. That may be the most important activity.

Imagine a delicate, lacey, shimmering veil that vibrates with light and sound and beautiful geometric patterns. Imagine that reality arises from this subtle veil as a field of vital energy. Now imagine that whatever does not harmonize with this field is a distortion, an illusion that we are fooled into thinking is real. That vibrating field is the basic ground of life. This field is being lit up by high-charged cosmic input. Reality as we have known it is being rearranged. We may be afraid we are losing our minds. That may be a good thing if our hearts are opening. As false illusions are dissolved, the truth of who we are will shine forth.

How I see it is that this volatile activity is erupting around the globe like psychic earthquakes and volcanoes, pushing up layers of unresolved history that we must confront, heal and clear. We are in a highly lit up section of the galaxy, on the receiving end of X waves and other high quality cosmic influx. This charges up the atmosphere with electricity, fostering extreme weather. The poles of the Earth pull this energy inside, so that it rises to the surface in these wild outbreaks which we have been witness to.

What does it mean that hard on the heels of the Paris tragedy, high-level political neogiations are taking place in the midst of a climate summit in the same beautiful city? I was sent a heart-catching video about the journey of Sarayaku people from the Amazon to Paris. They came with a special, handcrafted Canoe of Life, made from a single pinchi tree, to sail in the Seine river as a symbol of “Kawsak Sacha,” “Living Forests.” Thus they bring attention to the dangers of deforestation, a primary cause of the what we call global warming. It’s a powerful story.

In a Greek creation myth, divine Eros, the god of love, emerges from the heart of chaos with Gaia, Earth, uniting Heaven and Earth. This is the renaissance we are experiencing. Another version of this story comes from the Tongva people, who have lived in the Los Angeles area from millennia. They tell the creation story starring Quaoar (Kwa-oh-or), who dances and sings the Universe into existence.

One of the far out, recently discovered planetoids in our solar system is named Quaoar, in honor of its discovery at Palomar Observatory near that City of Angels, in the homelands of the Tongva. Quaoar is a bit past Pluto, with an orbit of 285 years or so. It has one moon, Weywot. Don’t you just love these names? A dozen or so new objects now carry names from global mythologies, giving rise to significant fresh archetypes in the collective consciousness. This is exciting! New stories, a new vision of the solar system is arising into our collective awareness. New possibilities abound. Today’s children need to know these stories! We all do.

In the last few degrees of Sagittarius, Quaoar has been in alignment with the Galactic Center for some weeks, dancing and singing new wavelengths into our system, with heightened potency around Solstice, which is also aligned now with the “Black Whole” chaos deep in the Galactic Heart. Let us call on Quaoar to shape this chaos into fractal resonance, with fresh, vital insights for revitalization.

This New Moon evokes the Sun’s approach to Quaoar (keep saying it until you get it!) and the Galactic Center. We soon celebrate December 21 Solstice and the assorted holy days that come with it in this season of Deep Northern Light and Highest Southern Light. Let’s sing and dance along with Quaoar! Join in the creative chaos as the Sun turns the corner into a New Year. We are heading toward a Full Moon on Christmas day that highlights the hosanna of angels and the birth of a brand new year.
