This serpentine, mermaid goddess brings protections, connections, and blessings of many kinds, on many levels. Be careful what you wish for.

This first Full Moon of 2015 plugs into the ongoing Pluto-Uranus deconstruction agenda. We’re in for the last peak curve on the roller coaster of this transformational planetary duo this year, starting with this Full Moon. The Sun is closely conjunct transformational Pluto, while Uranus squares both Sun and Moon. This Moon is going to give us a real taste of the coming year.

I like how Astrologer Eric Linter puts it (ericlinter.com):

This “‘Full “Wolf’ Moon in Cancer sets off the powder keg that is the Uranus/Pluto square. The potential for growth is currently off the charts exciting, but be prepared to go beyond your comfort zone. Life can be hectic, even chaotic…”

Outmoded, dysfunctional systems are being reconstructed or replaced, and the process can be chaotic. This Full Moon reflects an underlying urgency for growth-oriented projects. We get a pretty stark idea of the 2015 transformational playing ground this weekend. Let’s roll up our sleeves and contribute our bit. Our collective need for change is highlighted, and we each feel out how we are experiencing that personally. It’s time to circle the wagons and join together to promote long-term solutions. New initiatives are clearly called for.

Big issues are at stake, but you can go for it at the down home and personal level, the first step. Like they say on plane flights: put your own oxygen mask on first. If you don’t take care of yourself, how can you take care of others? And remember this maxim: “think globally, act locally,” sage advice that has special merit in these times. This Full Moon ushers in an extra-long Void of Course spacetime wormhole that lasts well over a day, when the Moon will not be consorting with any planets. We have before us plenty of moonlit hours to consider and reflect in a receptive spirit.

This Full Moon in particularly powerful along longitudes on the East Coast of the U.S., Azerbaijan, Hong Kong/ Perth, Australia, and Hawaii, where the Full Moon, Uranus and Nodes of the Moon are on the four astrological angles. Effects may be politically or in terms of weather. Indeed, in my corner of the U.S. Northeast, we are expecting multiple inches of a messy mix of snow and freezing rain starting tonight. My very informal observations indicate that water Moons tend toward precipitation.

The Full Moon in its own sign is particularly powerful and benevolent, with a cornucopia of blessings from the Great Goddess, the Mother of the All the Buddhas. This Moon is also aligned with the brightest star Sirius, the Egyptian Star of the Goddess Isis. Much referred to in esoteric lore, Sirius may be a sister star of our own Sun. At “only” eight light years away, it is associated with dolphins and considered a source of Love-Wisdom. She sends what we truly need. So be it.

I’ve been mentioning the centaur object named Chariklo in recent months. In December I outlined a list of conjunctions she was making with other bodies. This Full Moon is one of the dates, as CHARIKLO joins up with CERES. I especially like this Ceres connection, on the first Full Moon of 2015, making a connection with the grounded, electrodynamic vitality and geometric intelligence orchestrated by the living Earth. I feel that this indicates a new level of Earth Awakening, which goes along with the Pluto in Capricorn agenda for empowerment of Nature’s hierarchies, grids and vortices.

Perhaps this intriguing combination has something to do with the surprising news about five gravity-defying minutes occurring (Jan.4) at 12:47pm EST, 9:47am PST, and 5:47pm GMT. Because of a rare heliocentric alignment, with most planets gathered on one side of the Sun, we are supposed to be able to jump up during these five minutes and stay up longer, giving a feeling of partial weightlessness. I’m a bit skeptical, especially because I don’t see how, geocentric or heliocentric, Pluto can pass directly behind Pluto, a gravitational factor of this phenomenon. Well, read about it for yourself at:

Planetary Alignment On Jan 4, 2015 Will Decrease Gravity For 5 Minutes Causing Partial Weightlessness

If you can figure it out, let me know. In any case, I’m setting my clock to try the jump up!

Another special feature of this Full Moon is a close conjunction of MERCURY and VENUS at the beginning of AQUARIUS, a lovingly, friendly combo of “caritas,” brotherly love, tuned in to higher mind vibrations with plenty of electro-magnetic jitterbugging and possible storminess. This pair makes a “genius” quintile aspect of 72 degrees with Uranus, adding to the mental acuity as well as the stormy potentials. With Uranus so close to the South Node of the Moon, coming exact at the end of this month, some unexpected developments are bound to pop forth, like bubbles of wisdom from a dolphin’s mouth or intelligence rays from an ET, both of which have likely happened before. The Sabian Symbol for the degree of Venus reads:

2 AQUARIUS: UNEXPECTED THUNDERSTORM BRINGS RELIEF TO PARCHED FIELDS

Perhaps locations that need such rain will receive it. In ways we don’t understand, Earth’s intelligence receives incoming cosmic information and responds appropriately, whether we think so or not.

The unexpected developments we are expecting could bring equal relief, a situations reach a peak that tips the scales toward global benefits.

To get your Uranus going, here’s a song for you, my favorite from West Side Story. Listen to the original movie version at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xu7sRdRrm_w

or Matt Cavanaugh’s 2009 Broadway revival version at:

or Gavin Creel’s Club Med vacation version at:

“Could be, who knows?

There’s something due any day,

I will know right away soon as it shows.

It may come cannonballin’ down through the sky

Gleam in its eye, bright as a rose! Who knows?…

Something’s coming, something good, if I can wait.

I don’t know what it is but it is going to be great…

Something’s coming, don’t know when but it’s soon

Catch the Moon, one-handed catch…”

Let’s jump up and catch this Full Moon!
