I am on TWO community television stations this month! The first show, produced in Ashland, Oregon, is an astrology and myth talk about this month of October. The second presentation, filmed in Montpelier, Vermont, addresses larger and smaller cycles that we are experiencing now and into the next couple of years. See below for links.
NEW MOON SUMMARY
A mixed array of planetary dynamics makes for a pungent, salty and sweet, New Moon cycle. Uranus is particularly electrical, with lightning bolts that split trees and relationships. Breakthroughs occur on many levels. Earthquakes, possibly literal and certainly political, awaken public awareness to an unprecedented level of social change initiative. Compassion necessitates practical service to create new arrangements that have long term impact on the way we live. Artistic imagery stimulates a high aesthetic and sets stylistic trends. The New Moon begins an extended Void of Course cycle that last well into tomorrow, giving us plenty of time to consider the implications of this powerful day and feel our way into the growing light of this Moon cycle.
URANUS is the key to this New Moon, along with Pluto. Even under the waning interactive intensity of this powerful pair of transformational planets, we are seeing its effects play out. This New Moon cycle will bring more, both personally and globally, as relationships shift and some dance partners change.
And some remain the same. VENUS is now back in Virgo, having completely recovered and tying a neat bow around her summer retrograde journey. She soon joins her summer dance partners, MARS and JUPITER, all now in Virgo. Especially if we have done the work she requested to live more fully in our hearts, this could be quite lovely, vibrant Earth-yness, a call to dance with Nature in its vitality and wisdom. There is going to be a LOT going on. Hasn’t the pace picked up enormously lately amidst the higher cosmic frequencies that we are beginning to experiencing? Wow. I tuned into Lee Harris’ monthly take on things, which came to my attention somehow. See if you like his Energy Forecast for October 2015 as much as I did.

We also won’t need as much processing time for experiences if we are in our hearts, he assures us. That’s a good thing, since developments are arising thick and fast. The heart is wise and all-embracing with its ancient magic.
LILITH is also indicating an influx of rarified perception, influencing the apparent choices we are making as we head down the road in new cycles, macro and micro. MERCURY is now moving forward, a green light for fresh initiatives and decisions to be implemented. Mercury is right smack dab on the North Node of the Moon, a karmic tipping point. Do we have any free will? How deep is your belief in karma, in destiny?
I spent several months with A.H. Almaas’ new book, Runaway Realization, a deep read about subtle levels of consciousness shift. In his rich discussion of what he calls our innate “enlightenment drive, as basic to human nature as our other powerful drives for survival, sex and social intercourse, he addresses the evergreen question of effort vs. grace. One clear point he reminds us is that as we pursue enlightenment, there really is no goal to attain or particular state of consciousness to achieve. It’s a relationship, between soul and the divine, or however we want to articulate the Oneness. We need to put in effort to be willing, to align our minds to step aside and allow the depth of ourselves to be more fully expressed. Yet, in the end, it is all about Divine Grace. “Living Being progressively reveals more if its truth as it evolves our experience.”
I feel this is relevant to the presence of Black Moon Lilith with Mercury on the North Node, also known as the Dragon Head in Libra. As we notice the quality of our mental states, emotional reactions and actions, and notice when our egos step in. Relationships give us plenty of information along these lines! We don’t need to force anything—including relationships—or get all caught up in the confusion of it. Mindfulness, clarity and mental positivity are special “gifts that keep giving,” and invite even more as we get out of our own way. Relationships are thus clarified as well. Where do you stand? On one side or the other? Or in your own center? I’ve been getting lots of email messages lately about staying “in neutral.”
I can’t remember where I read this, but maybe you will: “Wisdom is the charged atmosphere that shapes itself from emptiness.”
And here’s something from adventurer Sir Laurens VanderPost that sounds like the enlightenment drive in its primal call:
“Somewhere beyond the walls of our awareness
the wilderness side,
the hunter side,
the seeking side
of ourselves is waiting to return.”
