FULL MOON at 3 Sagittarius-GEMINI
November 25, 5:44pm EST, 2:55pm PST, 10:44pm GMT
Image: Moon Mystery by artist Judith Wheelock. Readers may remember her Buddha face from last spring. In sharing this image, I realize that southern hemisphere residents are seeing buds on trees that are no longer so winter-barren! Please imagine the greening.
This FULL MOON fully engages the great question of the moment: what is reality? This GEMINI Full Moon amplifies a square dance of planets that can be quite distracting and disorienting. We come back and back in this square dance to questions and conundrums about reality.
I have been reading some commentary on the current SATURN-NEPTUNE challenge that we engage well into 2016. Clearly this is a challenging square-off between two planets with a wide variance in effect and affect. Saturn is realistic, situational and circumstantial. We experience limitations, definitions, pressure, discipline and accomplishments in some literal, in-your-face way. In Sagittarius—with the SUN AND MERCURY on this Full Moon—the Saturn challenge is, in part, to our beliefs and the way we interpret what is going on around us.
Again: what is reality? and to whom? Religious convictions and self-righteous certainties are targeted by what one writer called Saturn’s “sling-shot” (I think it was either Jessica Murray or Philip Sedgwick.) A resulting crack in the wall lets in some Neptunian subtleties, vibrations and nuances, rarified impressions, visionary or demented dreams. Neptune experience depends on the wavelength you tune into, whether inspirational or delusional. We’ve all got filters onto reality, that’s a given. Some are more narrow than others. This is the Mercury factor. We don’t often think beyond coded parameters that come from our DNA, upbringing, cultural coding, soul history—so many such influences and biases through which we self-define what is “real.” Especially with Saturn-Mercury in Sag, we are getting a big dose of religious and cultural fanaticism, obvious when acted out in a “might is right” scenario.
Such narrow outlines by which we stake our turf, the safe parameters we are willing to deal with, melt in front of Neptune’s spirituality and mysticism, its universal sense of oneness and compassion that crosses borders and worlds, time and space.
We are seeing such a face-off demonstration as a result of coordinated multi-bomb violence the same day in Paris and Beirut, and more. Such “random” violence is more shocking in Paris, perhaps, but more prevalent in Beirut and other cities from which refugees are fleeing to find safety. The fear factor is rampant, with security lockdowns and high alerts.
Much confusion (Neptune) reigns in trying to understand what is happening here and why. News, reports and responses on many social mediums have spread the word and prayers quickly, yet also tend to conflict, cover up, distract and diffuse some of the issues. Dear friends sent me some beautiful words from Black Elk of the Oglala Sioux, from many decades ago, during the conquest of the Americas (thank you, Chris and Indio White Eagle):
“The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells Wakan-Tanka [the Great Spirit], and that this center is really everywhere. It is within each of us. This is the real peace, and the others are but reflections of this.
The second peace is that which is made between two individuals. The third is that which is made between two nations. But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is known that true peace, which, as I have often said, is within the souls of men.” —Black Elk of the Oglala Sioux
How can we become aware of our narrow points of view and let them be dissolved by the greater Oneness? How can we find a way to “live and let live” in peaceful understanding, open and curious about other cultures and peoples, seeking the common ground in the heart of all religions. The finger is pointed at this great work. Are we open enough to let Truth be revealed to us rather than seeking to put our stamp of “truth” on the world?
Bruce Lipton has just published an updated version of his seminal book, THE BIOLOGY OF BELIEF: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter, and Miracles. After decades of study in cell biology, he moved through and beyond scientific dogmatism to meld spirituality with science, forwarding a vision of living biological intelligence, rather than on a competitive, DNA-driven model of evolution. From his own observations of deep cell activity, he now teaches an environmentally sensitive model, where our own creative intelligence and responsiveness to stimulus can change how we experience life. Basically he is saying that our genes do not determine our lives, that we can alter our responses by altering our beliefs. “Change your story and you change your life,” is what I say every week on Cosmic Inspiration Radio! Lipton agrees, and has the science to prove it.
” As we all know, knowledge is power and consequently, knowledge of self provides self-empowerment…It is my sincerest hope that you will recognize that many of the beliefs that propel your life are false and self-limiting and that you will be inspired to change those beliefs. You can take back control of your life and set out on the road to health and happiness.”
This is one of the great tasks of this Full Moon and this season.
Let’s not be too heavy about it, in spite of our shared sorrow. Can your heart be as light as a feather? Let Neptune’s angel feathers tickle you pink along the way. Listen to some uplifting music. Watch the light of the Moon through the branches of the bare trees and those with greening buds. Nature is a true teacher, which we need more than ever. From inside out, Gaia Mother Earth is helping to evoke and heal the great wounds of history in order for a healthier world to birth forth. Let’s help her.
THANKSGIVING comments for United States citizens: (I was going to write “Americans,” but that is not the proper way to specifically address citizens of the 50 States and its 5 inhabited territories (Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands). The term “Americans” refers geographically to all North, Central and South Americans. Let’s stay aware.)
In the U.S., this Full Moon is just in time for Thanksgiving, shining its brightest light for this day of Grace. Family matters may need attention, with potential disagreements or resistance. It may be best to eat dinner without politics on the table. Differing belief systems create static. Invite all prayers for thanks giving to the table. Forgiveness and compassion, along with giving thanks, go well with pumpkin and pecan pies, or any after dinner aperatif. Later in the evening the Moon is Void of Course, by which time harmony may again reign.
Every day is great for giving thanks, an emotional acknowledgement of what is beautiful, enriching and love-filled in our lives. I thank you, Cosmic News readers, for being here with me.
