“There is pleasure in the pathless woods.”
—Byron
This New Moon in Taurus is hunkered in very close to Uranus, the Awakener, inviting us deeper and more richly into Earth’s evolving dance. We must be in our bodies to accept this invitation and enjoy the unique experience and beauty of planet Earth.
This is the major theme of this New Moon, but even more necessary to attend to because, Saturn is now in Aquarius. CEO Saturn, the Agenda Maker is conducting an initial survey of the territory, giving indications of where “things” are heading. Saturn is insisting that we objectify our perspective in order to ‘get’ the Big Message being downloaded through galactic waves and our higher minds.
Saturn is an active player on this New Moon, in a dynamic 90-degree, squared relationship. “Something is happening here, What it is ain’t exactly clear.” Indeed! During this Moon cycle, we will have some definite manifestations of the level of change we are moving into. It’s time for change, train whistle’s a’blowin’, so get on board! This is a first taste of what is coming into fuller manifestation next year, when both Saturn and Jupiter pair up and square off with Uranus. We are getting a big heads up, alerted to developments that are in progress/ in process, not fulfilled until 2021. We are now working on getting this new decade set up with the right energy.
Aquarius is a sign able to step back and look at life “From a Distance,” as that famous song let us know. Perhaps it’s worth a new listen to attune to a proper wavelength. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMjS2xqGeQ4
It was written 4 decades ago. As I relistened, I heard it a bit differently than I have before. We have certainly been experiencing “distance,” but through the lens of this Uranian New Moon in earth sign Taurus, I wonder if ‘God’ is truly watching us ‘from a distance,’ or is really intimately close and immediately present in our lives.
The following poem is by St. Teresa of Avila, a Spanish mystic born March 28, 1515. I am struck by how well this poem expresses her Ceres in Taurus. If charts live on after the person dies, then she is having a transit of Uranus over her Ceres, Goddess of the Grain.
In A Way The Grain Can Feel
Remember, God, that we are the plants in your fields
so connected to the earth
that you know what would happen
if you did not rain upon us.
And if your light ceased to lift us from the ground
and craft our bodies,
how might we near you like the suns?
Remember, God to love us in a way
our souls can taste
and rejoice in.
[Found in Love poems from God: twelve sacred voices from the East and West, translated by Daniel Ladinsky.Thank you, Candice Covington of Divine Archetypes.com for sharing this poem and reminding me of this mystical woman whose writings (Interior Castle)I read many years ago—right around the time pictured in the above photo].
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote down this quote from somewhere or other:
“What is mystical wakes up in you and becomes who you are…
beyond any concepts we hold.”
That last phrase sounds very Lilith-like to me. Black Moon Lilith is still communing with Chiron, offering a key to our healing in this unprecedented moment, this Chiron-like “Be Here Now” moment in which we have an opportunity to be as present as we can be. When else is it possible to stand centered and aligned in spirit/mind/body? How else can we be fully grounded, as deeply rooted as an old tree, yet in tune with the spiritual? If we are worried about the future or caught in a tangle of memories from the past, we are not “here now,” present to the moment with its invitation of awesomeness.
An esoteric motto for Taurus is:
“I see and when the Eye is opened, all is light.”
With Uranus in Taurus for the next several years, this level of perception is highly relevant and likely more available. We are called to see through the illusion of materiality—even (or especially) in this dense earth sign. Deepak Chopra offers an inspiring way to think about this:
“Beyond the visible garment of the Universe,
beyond the mirage of molecules, the maya of physicality,
lies an inherently invisible, seamless matrix, made up of Nothingness.
This invisible Nothing silently
orchestrates, instructs, guides, governs, and compels Nature
to express itself with infinite creativity, infinite abundance and
unfaltering exactitude into a myriad of designs and patterns and forms.”
At heart Taurus is a material, earth sign. Here we dwell in our bodies, which house the soul for a short lifetime. Since we are here, let’s plant ourselves strong and firm, to be productive and get the most from this lifetime. We can celebrate Earth and Heaven, Nature and Spirit, even as we remember the impermanence of the physical, a key teaching of the Buddha, born in the sign of Taurus. If we get too attached, possessive and materialistic, there comes pain and suffering. With both Uranus and Pluto currently in earth signs, we are being called to free up from attachments and untether ourselves from both outer and inner psychic structures that tie us to the past.
“Forget the cringing selves you sometimes are and remember, instead, the magic essence of your own being that sings even now through your fingertips. That is the reality which you are seeking. Experience it fully.”
—Seth
This is a Big Work that aligns with the sweep of galactic waves shifting Earth into new frequencies, evolving all of life on this fragile and resilient planet.
Line of Destiny
There is a shift in the tone of our collective destiny, as the Nodes of the Moon change signs at the end of this month from Cancer/Capricorn into Gemini/ Sagittarius. The pace of our experience picks up as we move around and explore our world in new ways. This means that eclipses start to change sign also, as we will experience in the coming June/July eclipse season. Stay tuned.
I must be feeling this already, considering that I’ve been sharing so many inspirational quotes with you this time—very Gemini! Well, indeed, Venus, ruler Taurus and this New Moon, is in Gemini now, offering a variety of viewpoints, clues— and inspirational messages!— to connect your higher and lower minds. Pay extra attention to what resonates for you in head and heart.
Here’s one last poem, from ‘writer/ artist/ imagineer, Ilan Shamir:
ADVICE FROM A TREE
Dear Friend
Stand Tall and Proud
Sink your roots deeply into the Earth
Reflect the light of your true nature
Think long term
Go out on a limb
Remember your place among all living beings
Embrace with joy the changing seasons
For each yields its own abundance
The Energy and Birth of Spring
The Growth and Contentment of Summer
The Wisdom to let go like leaves in the Fall
The Rest and Quiet renewal of Winter
Feel the wind and the sun
And delight in their presence
Look up at the moon that shines down upon you
And the mystery of the stars at night
Seek nourishment from the good things in life
Simple pleasures
Earth, fresh air, light
Be content with your natural beauty
Drink plenty of water
Let your limbs sway and dance in the breezes
Be flexible
Remember your roots
Enjoy the view!
