Depth Astrology, AstroMythology & the Cosmic Feminine

The March 2 New Moon is closely conjunct expansive Jupiter, as the Wisdom Planet moves ever closer toward its rare conjunction with Neptune in Pisces. This New Moon catches the incoming wave of the extraordinary Jupiter/Neptune alignment, exact on April 12. This particular alignment hasn’t happened since 1856. This Piscean lunar cycle brings a wave of light and higher frequencies through its waxing and waning, taking us across the March Equinox threshold and into an unprecedented field of energy and quantum consciousness shift.

New Moon @12 Pisces 07

Sun-Moon closely conjunct Jupiter
This new lunation cycle brings us in sight of the great wave of the rare, much-talked-of conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune, co-rulers of Pisces. Jupiter amplifies, expands, opens opportunities. This lunation brings in many such waves. Which ones will you ride? We’ll all need some worthy seafaring craft, surfboard, paddleboard or houseboat. In other words, ground yourself, and feel the strength of your physical vehicle to buffer the waves of incoming frequency, be they from galactic waves, Sun events, global upheavals or other rarified surprising developments beyond our rational comprehension. If we can get into out of our heads and into our hearts, this could be wonderful and glorious.

The Sabian Symbols for the New Moon and Jupiter are interestingly military-sounding:
New Moon @13 Pisces: A Sword, Used in Many Battles, in a Museum
Jupiter @15 Pisces: An Officer Drilling His Men in a Simulated Attack
Are we ‘hanging up our swords’? Are we beginning to put the many battles behind us, while honoring, in the museum, those who have heroically saved the day? How is the imagery of a ‘simulated attack’ playing out? Rather inscrutable at this New Moon moment, I can only refer to Lynda Hill’s suggestive commentary:

“Sometimes in life, the danger of things is overstated, exaggerated and overestimated and it looks like all hell is going to break lose at any minute.…Putting on a show of strength in order to put off threats from the outside can help promote a feeling of safety and solidarity.”

Lynda also offers this quote from Sally Kempton:
“It is hard to fight an enemy who has outposts in your head.”
This particular quote caught my attention in relation to the recent, Pluto-impacted Mercury retrograde, with its charge to reprogram negative thinking.

Let’s also look at the New Moon Sabian symbol for Neptune @23 Pisces, increasingly influencing Jupiter: “A ‘Materializing Medium’ Giving a Séance.”
This gives an appropriately Neptunian sense of illusion, evoking another level of perception or putting on a show.  How does all this add up? Perhaps we will find out by the end of this Moon cycle, as we close.

As we sail into the rare Jupiter/Neptune conjunction. I found an interesting post by astrologer Ray Grasse, “When Jupiter and Neptune Meet in Pisces in April 2022”:

“With Pisces being the symbol par excellence of the great “ocean of being,” as it were, I see this as signaling a potentially extraordinary opening up of the collective unconscious, a time when the proverbial “veil” thins and we suddenly can enjoy easier access to subtle ideas, concepts and creative impulses — perhaps even contact with intelligences beyond the veil. At the very least, it should be a time when the human imagination will be especially rich in its offerings, when ideas can be plucked from the collective mindstream
like low-hanging fruit.”

—on The Mountain Astrologer website, dated 11/03/21

Grasse did not ignore the problematic side of this planetary conjunction, which can include basic Neptune issues of confusion, illusion and delusion—but let’s focus on the positive potential! Let’s envision the high side of our collective Big (Jupiter) Dream (Neptune). That’s the whole point of our recent double retrograde experience deeply transforming our mental/emotional wavelength from fear to love.

More unusual planetary dynamics on the New Moon signify extraordinary manifestations in our experience, personal and collective.

The triple conjunction of Venus/Mars/Pluto @27 Capricorn
is a dramatic combination of emotional transformation. The Capricorn on-the-ground experience will clearly impact the collective situation, already dramatic. In your own personal experience this combination will prove how well you have worked with the Pluto-infused Venus retrograde that is just now ending its ‘circle of influence’ that began in December and sent us into 2022.
Sabian symbol for 27 Capricorn: “A Mountain Pilgrimage.”
What a meaningful, spiritual and life-changing journey we are on!

Repeating what I wrote last time:
“Venus returns to its December 19, 2021 Pluto-charged retrograde starting point on March 2, accompanied by a capable, reliable Mars, exalted in Capricorn. A triple conjunction of Venus, Mars and Pluto is quite an extraordinary, well-seasoned grand finale to this Venusian reevaluation of our circumstances. By then, be ready for well-considered action. What is your action plan? As this Full Moon wanes, have these two weeks to get a good, workable outline sketched out. Proceed with care and a strong sense of responsibility.”

This triple conjunction will demonstrate your skill at planning and rearranging how you are living. Not just planning, but stepping up into a more resonant level of emotional maturity, in taking back your personal power (Pluto) in relation to the larger picture. ‘Personal emotional empowerment’ alchemizes the essential process of the retrograde Venus that is ending with such a potent and impactful grand finale. Venus as a personal ally seeks your happiness and full-on joy in life. We have been realigning both thinking (Mercury) and emotional tone (Venus) through the two retrogrades of January-February. Both planets spent time in Pluto’s dark-to-light underworld, letting go of various personal psychological restraints that undermine our lives and are no longer worth sustaining. The New Moon is the last shedding, revealing glory. Our personal awakening in this process impacts the larger world. As above, so below; as within, so without.

“What you see outside is what is inside of you.
And what is inside of you is what is outside of you.
It is visible and it is your garment.
If you bring forth what is within you,
What you bring forth will save you.
If you do not bring forth what is within you,
What you do not bring forth will destroy you.”
—from The Gnostic Gospels, Elaine Pagels

In Capricorn, through deep tuning into the quality of our heart intelligence, along with the extended companionship of Mars in this sign of its seasoned capability and strength, we have been realigning our inner relationship of the feminine and masculine aspects of our human nature. This has, and will have, implications for our ongoing relationships, both personal and on a wider social level.

Shortly after this New Moon, on March 5-6, Venus and Mars move together into Aquarius. This will clearly change the tone of our experience, especially on the wider social level. There is a love of individuality, independence and freedom in Aquarius, with which we can discover and work out a more harmonious way of living together on this Earth.

Mercury/Saturn @19 Aquarius
This almost-exact conjunction also implies new social discourse, asking serious questions and requiring an objective and clear perspective in analyzing the value of information coming our way. This may also be a good time to step back from media, both news and social media, to refer to our intuition which got an upgrade during the eclipses last year.

This New Moon is closely sextile Uranus in Taurus, supporting, channeling and containing this great wave of obviously huge changes. Some of our shorelines will shift and rivers change course, physically, metaphysically and/or metaphorically.

Full Moon @27 Virgo/Pisces 40

The March 16 Full Moon finds Jupiter and Neptune much closer together.
By then, the Sun has crossed and infused both planets into our life force, basking in the (spiritualizing) afterglow on this Full Moon.  In earthy Virgo, the Full Moon responds to this field in magical, mystical demonstrations by Nature. Watch for the signs, the rainbows, the orbs, the shimmering in the air.

Mercurial Mercury, picking up the New Moon vibe from two weeks ago, is quickly approaching that rare conjunction, exact on Equinox, March 20. To those with ‘ears’ to hear, the Messenger of the Gods translates, channels, infuses the subtle fluids of our bodies with divine gnosis from universal consciousness. For some, subtle and psychic senses awaken. Listen to your body, your vehicle of divinity, as well as your dreams. Stay finely attuned to the Big Dream of the Earth, herself.  “Are we dreaming the Earth or is the Earth dreaming us?” has been wondered by many, including Thomas Berry, a self-proclaimed ‘geologian’:

“Beyond our genetic coding we need to go to the earth as the source whence we came and ask for its guidance, for the earth carries the psychic structure as well as the physical form of every living being upon the planet. Our confusion is not only within ourselves; it concerns also our role in the planetary community.
“Even beyond the earth we need to go to the universe and inquire concerning the basic issues of reality and value; for, even more than the earth, the universe carries the deep mysteries of existence within itself.
“We cannot discover ourselves without first discovering the universe, the earth and the imperatives of our own being. Each of these— the universe, the planet earth and our genetic endowment— has a creative power and a vision far beyond any rational thought or cultural creation of which we are capable. Nor should we think of these as isolated from our own individual being or from the human community. We have no existence except within the earth and within the universe itself. We must consider ourselves as activating a dimension of the universe and of the earth.”
— from Berry’ article, “The Dream of the Earth: Our Way into the Future,” in Summer/Fall 1987 issue of CrossCurrents, published by the University of North Carolina Press. See preview here.

Venus and Mars in Aquarius are half-way between Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn in Aquarius, in dynamic alignment with Uranus. Let us be assured that ‘interesting’ developments are sure to change things around in sudden, surprising, even radical ways. Our emotional choices come in to play as to whether we experience such Uranian breakthrough events as shocking, anxiety-producing or exciting. This could be a bit of an emotional roller coaster. Hopefully we have grounded ourselves emotionally to steady ourselves for weathering, even enjoying the potentials opening up.

Earth calls for our cooperation.
The intensity of far-off Sedna, deep in the dark Arctic Sea and close to the end of Taurus adds her underwater transformational depth
to Pluto’s underworld transformational depth in Capricorn.
This Full Moon in Virgo fulfills a grand trine in earth, pulling down the extraordinary grace and expansion of Jupiter/Neptune with her own natural grace and grit.
