The Scorpio-Taurus Full Moon is full of alchemical import. Still, it will be quietly tamer than last month’s awesome Blood Moon Eclipse. The Taurus Moon is passionately Earth-loving, reveling in the full-bodied textures of the material world. There is a bit of the doubting Thomas in Taurus, which believes in the evidence of its senses. Opposite, Scorpio plunges deep into subatomic layers, discerning the potential of rearranging and manipulating them for alternate manifestation. The outcome depends on the motivation. The symbols of Scorpio range from the survivalist Scorpion to the majestic, far-seeing Eagle to the Phoenix, reborn from its ashes, and the calming peaceful promise of the White Dove.
A few weeks ago, on a blustery, chilly, wet day, I had a personal encounter with a white dove. On my way into town, there was a white bird on the road, being tossed and tumbled about as cars went by. A white bird in the road? It surely wasn’t wild. I pulled over and got out of the car to shoo the bird off the road onto a narrow trail between some trees. I proceeded to town, resolving to see if I could find some help for this clearly lost and miserable bird. My iPhone located a local animal rescue person, who suggested that I go back and see if I could find the bird and bring it to her. That I did. It had walked further down that narrow path, still and huddled against the chilly drizzle. I carefully approached the bird and wrapped it in my jacket. On the drive, we eyed each other. Yes, a white dover, confirmed the rescue volunteer, theorizing that it had been let loose at a recent wedding, becoming lost. This event touched me deeply, especially after all the recent Raven energy, which I’ve been reporting to you!
We are still enjoying the close trio of JUPITER, VENUS and MARS in VIRGO, with the accompanying special effects of Nature. We can best tune in to its simple subtleties with our subliminal senses. There is a delicate, nuanced healing opportunity on this Moon, one that arises from the inside out. Trust the inherent wisdom of your body and listen to its messages, with no imposition of rationality or ignore-ance. Visit your body therapist if you need help.
I am a big fan of kinesiology and the Body Talk protocol, which asks the body to state its needs—such a prime Virgo modality. I recently had a session with my long-time friend and colleague Jana Brady, Body Talk practitioner extraordinaire, with a rare ability to work remotely. She is listed on the International Bodytalk Association website at: https://www.bodytalksystem.com/practitioners/details.cfm?id=2556
Lo and behold, another bird came for my session—the Tufted Titmouse. This great online resource clarified the message of this lovely winged one:
http://www.starstuffs.com/animal_totems/dictionary_of_birds.html.
“Cheerful, bird of truth, mind mysteries, joy, heals/balances/opens perceptions, teaches about voicing impressions and expressions. Titmouse teaches to use our voice and the immense power of small things and with small ideas. Titmouse teaches courage and empowerment along with being bold with discernment. A natural curiosity awakens your senses and surroundings. Pay attention to social settings. He teaches the art of flexibility…Titmouse can show how to express ideals with timing.”
I’m listening! sharing ideas and perceptions, and keeping my ear open to BLACK MOON LILITH. Full of divine mischief, with LILITH is still consorting with Mercury in Libra. Rare “mind mysteries” indeed! Our perceptions are being skewed, blown away, and twirled around Lilith’s pinky finger. All along she looks at us from the corners of her eyes with her Mona Lisa smile. She may press her long finger down on one side of the Libran Scales to see how you respond. Can your hold your balance, hold your center, amidst surrounding influences and seasonal wild winds of change? Some years ago, I read a Blake poem which greatly inspired me, and I grabbed the handiest book in which to write it down. It happened to be Delphine Jay’s Lilith Ephemeris for Dark Moon Lilith (different than the Black Moon). Here is that quote:
“How do you know but ev’ry bird
That cuts the airy way
Is an immense world of delight,
Clos’d by your senses five?”
As a sweet treat, in honor of Venus, I thought you might enjoy these Sun Sign Fortune Cookies for the upcoming months of November-December, written for VERMONT WOMAN newspaper. (available online at http://www.vermontwoman.com), along with commentary from the Goddess of the Month.
Your Sun Sign Fortune Cookies
ARIES—If you can attend to the nitty-gritty details of your revolutionary ideas, your vision becomes clearer and takes on substance. You may need help. Collaboration is not always your strong suit. Choose partners wisely and give it a try.
TAURUS—You’ve reevaluated what is meaningful and reclaimed your ground. Now you can proceed to put two plus two together, adding up to way more than four. Developments unfold fairly smoothly. Don’t take things for granted. Do enjoy yourself along the way.
GEMINI—Fussy details can be oh, so annoying. Distractions are likely to be more enticing than usual. Don’t drop the ball. You’re an important link in the chain. Keep your eye on the goal, even while enjoying the ride.
CANCER—Significant decisions have been made. Now it’s time to rearrange things accordingly. Keep a steady pace, so you don’t feel rushed while keeping in step with fast-track developments. When you need time to smooth your sensitive ruffled feathers, take it.
LEO—Apply your talents to glean the harvest from the summer’s surge of creative energy. Each detail can be an aesthetic choice. Remember that many famous artists made experimental sketches of what turned out to be masterpieces. You might try that.
VIRGO—Apart from some sensation of overwhelm, things are opening up for you. Yes, there is so much to get done—and you don’t have to do it all at once. When priorities are clear, so much more is accomplished so much more easily. Perfect!
LIBRA—The balance has tipped and the conversation has changed. Even if not everyone agrees on everything, progress is made—as long as everyone in the loop knows what they are to do. Who is keeping track of that “to do” list? Is that you? If not, ask around.
SCORPIO—Are you feeling reinvigorated, with a big weight off your shoulders? If not, give yourself a bit more recovery time. You’ve done a big piece of work in this last year or two. Your truest passion arises from the deepest place and can’t be hurried.
SAGITTARIUS—After impatiently tapping your foot all summer, a double green light was all it took to get you pushing off into the new adventure. Your enthusiasm is contagious and your focus impressive. Attend to details this year for further reward next year.
CAPRICORN—Your plans have, perhaps, unraveled a bit—but it’s all for the better in the long run. A rethink was in order. Some down time is in order to take stock and reframe your vision. Your inner guidance is available on call. Use it.
AQUARIUS—The drama and intensity has died down, but you’re still mired in fussy details sorting things out. Give it your best attention now, so that things can work out really well and give you the breathing room you want.
PISCES—Reality is so elusive in the spinning merry-go-round of life these days. Find a way to work your schedule so you have some space to sort things out, and come back to yourself. Do make a special effort to eat well and feel your feet on the ground.
I took into particular account Jupiter’s presence in Virgo, and made The Virgin my Goddess of the Month:
Goddess Star Talk—VIRGO
Virgo is one of the few female constellations in the sky. She carries a sheaf of wheat or corn in one hand, Nature’s bounty—rather like Vermont’s own goddess, Ceres, on the Capitol’s golden dome. Often Virgo, the Virgin, is pictured with wings, suggesting angelic stature. In former times, “virgin” meant “belonging to herself,” rather than referring to sexual status. It is said that in the distant Golden Age, Virgo once lived on Earth among us. As humanity became increasing ignorant and pollution spread around the globe, she could no longer remain. Sorrowful, angry and distressed, she retreated to the heavens to live among the stars. Are we ready to call her back? Winter is not Virgo’s Sun sign season, but with beneficent Jupiter, King of the Gods, bowing to this High Priestess of the sky through next summer, we do well to learn what we can from her. She points out the sensuous delicacy and power of Nature through all the seasons, and teaches the organic wisdom of the body. Every one of our cells has an innate intelligence that naturally responds to rhythms of time and place to enhance our wellbeing. These days we are so quick to pop a pill or shoot chemicals into our systems. Let us consult Virgo’s eternal wisdom as we listen to the unique nuances of our own physical vehicles in choosing the best ways and means to personal health.

Ancient yet never more popular, LILITH appears in our oldest literature. Goddess or demon, this alluring female figure has continued to fascinate our cultural imagination for over four millennia. If we follow her trail back in time to seek the source of the fear and negativity she typically evokes, we often discover, not only a major shift in the collective human image of the feminine, but also something essential that needs to be awakened, redeemed and empowered in our personal lives.
We will consult the multiple octaves of Lilith in our own charts. What is she saying to you? Some topics to be discussed:
* Lilith in mythology and the arts, in astronomy/astrology
*The autonomous woman in society
*Through the Looking Glass: Astral worlds of Faerie and Goth
*Mysteries of the Dark Goddess, East and West
*The Paralyzing Eye of Medusa
*Love Triangle in Eden—Lilith in Relationship
*Lilith and the Soul
