NEW MOON at 12 CANCER 54

This NEW MOON is opposite PLUTO, the dark god of death and rebirth, while the follow-up FULL MOON on the 19-20th will be charged by the lightning bolts of URANUS and the subtle (or not so subtle) clarifications of BLACK MOON LILITH. We clearly have globe-changing dynamics in store.
With this New Moon on the U.S. national holiday, I wonder if this country will play a central role in global news over the next month, as the U.K. has done this past month. Certainly the reality show of the 2016 Presidential Election will continue to reveal surprises.
But I’m not a political commentator. My key interest is in the meaningful experiences of persons in my life—family, friends and clients—in this time of extraordinary consciousness awakening. What we are each and all experiencing individually is the real news.
I do check in on some internet news, trolling for items of special interest like this one:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/brain-art-franklin-institute_us_576d65b3e4b017b379f5cb68
This link shows an artistic rendition of the brain based on biophysics—stunningly inspiring. I’ve got the graphic as my screensaver now and have replayed the video a few times to watch the brain shimmer so that I can feel the resonance light up my own neural pathways.
This is the month for doing just that, as the New and Full Moons click into higher consciousness planets, Pluto then Uranus. Uranus in Aries, in particular, suggests awakening neural pathways in the 90% unused portions of our personal, living and evolving biological “computer.” To get there, we need to go through Pluto’s gateway first, releasing old interference patterns that gummed up the works. This NEW MOON takes us on a journey through our own dark underworlds to continue to shed any unnecessary “baggage,” meaning any fears or other factors that undermine our vitality and capacity to live in our Essence. We cannot continue to hold ourselves back—or let others do so.
Our perception is the key, not necessarily the circumstances themselves. Can we stay alert when subjective filters create static and reactive biases that stunt our growth? Under the influence of such static, we unconsciously “vote” for the problem rather than stay open to solutions. We have seen several “too close to call” votes recently in Austria and Australia, not just in the U.K. Polarization is acute. Keen insights as well as blinding righteousness are witnessed on both sides of each question. All this is contributing to the collective chaos that signals a quantum shift in the making.
Wherever we position ourselves in the eternal debate about fate vs freewill, the more aware we are, the more clearly we see our situation. Our perspective shifts to the witness mind with increasing awareness and more detachment from specific outcomes. We lean in toward the freewill bandwidth, even though we have many layers of “programming”—familial, cultural, religious, etc.—to sift through. There must be some nuggets of gold in there somewhere. This amazing consciousness shift time is the new gold rush. As did the Alchemists, we are being asked to turn lead (the heavy stuff) into gold (precious stuff). The news reflects the collective drama of this Big Story while it also unfolds on a personal level in each of our lives.
How we “think” is the realm of both Moon and Mercury, found together on this New Moon. Keep an eye on any personal bias that pops up. Venus is present as well, a sweetening influence that puts love and caring as the primary value. Defensive tendencies of this sign of Home and Family tend to sentimentalize the “good old days,” with regressive attachments that push buttons of insecure stuck places. Pluto will dig these out so that we can remember what was, hug the scared child self that froze up, and bring forth a more mature approach that is relevant to the moment. There is much healing grace in being kind to ourselves and others.
DOUBLE WATER TRIANGLES
A double grand trine connects planets in all the water signs, bringing rain, floods and healing currents as needed. Let yourself cry if you need to, as waters flow under the bridge with the release of past hurts, regrets and judgments that no longer serve.
One triangle connects:
VENUS in Cancer, just coming out from the light of the Sun to take her place as the Evening Star, embraced by the crescent Moon. Find at least some time to float with ease, relax into a calm space within;
CHIRON in Pisces, offers compassion for those who suffer, as we all do in this place of spiritual exile. Recognize any sense of victimization and claim the power of healing and forgiveness;
MARS conjunct (true) BLACK MOON LILITH in late SCORPIO, is an evocative, erotic, alchemical combination that hones the keen spirit of the spiritual warrior. There is strong drive, best set with clear intention and, again, no expectations as to outcome. Expectations cloud clear-sightedness. There is already a lot of fog in the air.
The potential is a spiritual uplift that allows muddy water to flow past without getting caught up. A highly negative manifestation is always possible with any planetary dynamic. Let’s not go there.
Here is the image of the Sabian Symbol “clue” for 13 Cancer:
A HAND WITH A PROMINENT THUMB IS HELD OUT RECEPTIVELY.
Prominent 20th century astrologer Dane Rudhyar amplifies this degree with a strategy and a warning:
“Strong, active and self-certain will, or persistent yet blind plunging ahead into reality. Freedom from soft illusions.”
Now that Mars is moving forward, in Scorpio, and accompanied by no-nonsense Lilith, Rudhyar’s thumbnail sketch of this New Moon is particularly relevant.
The second, companion triangle connects:
MERCURY, SUN, MOON in Cancer, which bring forth both the inspiration and reactivity of personal perception;
NEPTUNE in PISCES floods the subtle energy fields with mystical intonations and/or drug-induced craziness, depending on one’s capacity for clarity and grounding (grab on to your spiritual anchor);
(mean) BLACK MOON LILITH in early SCORPIO, piles on misleading
dedication to intensity, which is likely to express extremes of the collective unconscious( if not channeled in surrender to a higher power power-hungry politicians with an agenda are not a higher power).
Yes, the subterranean realms are sending compelling signals to the surface and also revealing holes through which we can sight new growth arising— like in the above Crocheted Coral Reefs. Who knows what you will find if you dive to the bottom of your inner seas? Alchemy, a transformation of atomic structures, invites what we call magic, which is simply a quantum arrangement that defies standard operating systems by aligning to a higher order. Electrons circling an atomic nucleus, like planets circle the Sun, can jump, producing new atomic structures. If we can open space, in our minds and hearts, for this to happen, what Amazing Grace can pour in. In other words, if you clear out your closet (inner and outer) of that old stuff you don’t use or need, you have a lot of clear space! Even some memories can be a burden, and worth forgetting.
This reminds me of the beautifully carved box my friend Mary found at a sale last year, quite exquisite sculpted hardwood. It carried a 1970 Sotheby’s tag. She bought it for $60. She stashed the box away for several months, planning to give it to her husband for Christmas. It was just the sort of thing he would appreciate. When she pulled it out to wrap and put under the holiday tree, she was dismayed to find that termites had gotten to the box and eaten away much of the softer wood inside, making a hole. Looking down through that hole, she saw Benjamin Franklin looking back up at her. In fact, the box had a false bottom. Pulling it out, she found many more Benjamin Franklins—on dozens and dozens of $100 bills. In the end, they garnered $15,000. This is a true story, a Pluto story—from termites to treasure. This god destroys but gives back, ultimately, guarding the treasures of the underworld until we are ready. May you find yours.
